Vineyard Water Systems was created to address the need for training in the management and operation of modern irrigation systems.  We realized that while irrigation is a critical component of any agricultural growing system, in many cases the maintenance of the irrigation system was being overlooked while the management focus was being directed at more immediate components of the growing system.  Labor issues, pest & disease pressure and crop marketing issues are all challenges that often take priority over the scheduled maintenance of the irrigation system.  "As long as I can see water dripping, I'm happy!" is a common expression.  Many growers simply do not have the time to micro-manage an irrigation system, yet most wish they had the time to do it better.

The educational training that we provide may be at all levels.  In the conceptual stages of a project we assist by asking the pertinent questions relating to the irrigation water and its potential effects on the soils and the crops.  We help lay out the irrigation blocks by soil type and crop clonal selection.  We provide certified irrigation designs.  We provide in-field training and supervision for "grower installed" systems.  We provide fertigation recommendations based on the water & soil chemistry and plant physiology.  We design filtration stations based on the physical and chemical water quality parameters and the management style of the irrigation team.  We design system modifications…add-ons, fertilizer injectors, pre-filtration challenges, system automation, soil moisture monitoring, irrigation scheduling development.  We assist in developing an irrigation maintenance program based on the factors of a given irrigation system.  We provide in-field bilingual training on the operation and maintenance of complex irrigation systems.  We work for our client.  We do not sell equipment or products.
